CLEVELAND, June 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Applied Industrial Technologies (NYSE: AIT - News), one of North America's largest distributors of bearings and related products, announced that John M. Leyo has been named Area Vice President for the Company's North Atlantic Area. The area consists of the New England, Mid-Atlantic and parts of the Midwest geographies. Leyo will have sales and operations responsibilities covering all or parts of 12 states and 58 of the company's 350 US service centers.

Leyo was most recently Director of Sales for the North Atlantic Area and has previously held positions of Regional Manager and Account Manager. He has more than 25 years experience in sales and management positions with Applied Industrial Technologies and its companies. Leyo replaces Ted Carl who will retire, effective December 31, 2007, after 44 years with Applied. Leyo and his wife, Marilyn, will continue to reside in the Richmond, Virginia area.
